Product Description

Chromium Carbide Cullet Diverter Chute

This Pivoting Chute Diverter features chromium carbide wetted parts to protect the interior from extreme, abrasion and wear. The internal pivoting chute is positioned by using a two-stage Vortex Pneumatic Cylinder controlled by Solenoid Valves and position indication switches. Controls are routed through a pre-wired terminal box.
By means of energizing and de- energizing the solenoid valves, the chute can be re-positioned to any discharge port. An advantage of the Pivoting chromium carbide cullet diverter chute is that the chute’s position can be changed without stopping material flow through the diverter.

The chromium carbide cullet diverter chute is not designed to be shifted when material is passing through the diverter (shift "on the fly"). Fine material carried by the leading edge of the blade has a tendency to build up on either side of the interior housing.
Once build up occurs the material seal is negated. Larger material at the blade's leading edge will become trapped between the leading edge of the blade and the interior housing. This, too, negates the seal and additionally can create breakage of the blade, blade shaft, or actuation problems.
In certain instances, the application calls for flowing material to be directed to two destinations at once.
